Party Menu Ideas
Let's face it, we love parties, but nothing stresses us out more than coming up with new party menu ideas. Well, not anymore! We have easy, inexpensive party food ideas right here!
When is comes to choosing what to serve at teenage parties, you need to be creative yet keep it simple. Teens like a more casual dining experience and giving them anything else is sure to be more trouble than it's worth.
We have put together party menu ideas of all our favorite food for parties submitted by the teens who enjoy it. You will find some old favorites here as well as some new ideas that we think are terrific and will make the best party menu ideas for your teens party!
Party Food Ideas
Nachos
These are a favorite. They are easy to make and you can add extras too if you'd like!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place a layer of your favorite tortilla chips in a casserole dish or on a baking sheet.
Add ground beef or shredded chicken.
Add chopped tomatoes and chiles over meat.
Add a good amount of shredded cheese.
Bake for about 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Extras: Beans, onions, jalapeños - add before cheese.
Hot Wings
We love hot wings, and these couldn't be easier!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place wings in large plastic zip lock bag and add hot wings sauce and shake so wings are covered.
Place wings on non-stick cookie sheet.
Bake for 20 - 30 minutes until wings are fully cooked.
Macaroni and Cheese
This is a better version of the mac n cheese you may remember! You will need:
In a saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until smooth. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Reduce heat. Add all the cheeses, stirring until cheese is melted. Drain macaroni.
Transfer macaroni to a greased 1-1/2-qt. baking dish. Pour cheese sauce over macaroni; mix well. Melt the remaining butter; add the bread crumbs. Sprinkle over top. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes or until heated through and topping is golden brown.
Burgers
Teens love burgers and so we had to add this but with a twist which is an option! The dry onion soup mix adds a ton of flavor! These can also be made as sliders with dinner rolls rather than burger rolls.
Condiments like ketchup, mustard, mayo, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, .
Mix 1 packet dry onion soup mix with ground beef.
Add in shredded cheese.
Make medium sized small patties.
Grill, or broil, over medium-high heat approximately 4 minutes per side, until meat thermometer registers internal temperature of 160 degrees.
Place in sliced rolls.
Serve with condiments and fries (regular or seasoned).
Pizza
It's pizza time! Who doesn't like pizza? And nothing could be easier...order it from your favorite pizza place! It's one of our favorite party menu ideas for teens!
Okay, if you want to make your own, here is a great recipe.
What you will need:
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 teaspoons canola oil
(6 inch) flour tortillas
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 medium tomato, sliced
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Fruit Salad
Teens do like some healthy foods and fruit is at the top of the list. This is very easy to make too, and it's really good and adds great colors for fun party ideas.
What you need:
I like to start with a can of lite fruit cocktail as my base, but you don't have to do this, it adds a nice juice.
1 can lite fruit cocktail
Fresh strawberries
Bananas
Seedless graped cut in half
2-3 Kiwi sliced and cut up
Pineapple chunks
Melon chunks
Apple's both green and red, cut up into pieces.
Mix all together and put in the refrigerator to chill.
Potato Skins
Great finger food that isn't usually part of most party menu ideas. Teens love them and they work for every type of themed party ideas.
What you need:
4 large baking potatoes, baked
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup bacon crumbled
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup sliced scallions
Bake potatoes and cut in half, lengthwise. Carefully scoop out most of the potato.
Brush oil on skins.
Add salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
Bake on 400 degrees for ten minutes.
Add bacon and cheese.
Bake for another 3-5 minutes or until cheese melts.
Top with sour cream and scallions and enjoy!
