Taylor Swift is a favorite among girls, but really, who wouldn't like her?
She's a friendly and talented young woman who has stayed out of the kind of trouble that so many young stars find themselves in, especially in Hollywood, where self destructive behavior runs rampant.
What a breath of fresh air it is to have a role model for teen girls who is smart, pretty and savvy and actually gets attention for her talents rather than her tabloid pictures and bad behavior.
Born on December 13, 1989 and originally from Pennsylvania, Taylor and her family headed to Nashville when she was just fourteen to pursue a career in country music. A move that seems to have been a successful adventure for her as she quickly signed with her first independant label and became the youngest songwriter ever hired by Sony/ATV music publishing house with her third single, Our Song, that she wrote and performed, hit number one on the country charts.
But what makes her a star? She writes songs that girls relate to and we love it. We feel like she gets us, and she does. Her music tells stories, that, if you have ever been in love, you can so relate to!
Of course, she also writes from her own experiences as well, which is why they are so familiar.
In a recent interview, Taylor revealed that she feels a lot of pressure attached to her work. She wants her fans to feel good about buying her music and anything else that her name is on. She respects that her fans spend their hard earned money on her and want them to feel good about it.
She also says that she feels so much responsibility for saying the rights thing and getting her songs right. She understands that there are girls out there who need the songs she writes and have real feelings that relate to her words.
Although she feels anxiety, she doesn't let that paralyze her. "There are only so many hours in a day, and if you can focus the energy on only the things you can control, it's more productive."
Taylor, it seems is never short of material for her songs, she has previously enjoyed short romances with Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer and Conor Kennedy - but right now is head-over-heels for the One Direction heartthrob, Harry Styles, even though they have only been together since last month.
We just hope she's not moving too fast. But if she is, there is no doubt that there will be another number one hit shortly after the end.
Do you have a great story about Taylor? A favorite song? Have you seen her in concert? Tell us your thoughts and feelings, we want to know everything!
